Aerospace Day at the Capitol

"Aerospace Day at the Capitol" is an annual gathering of the aerospace industry within the state capitol building in order to promote the industry. I volunteered again this year, and friends at Lockheed and Leidos made sure I had some green necklaces for the day! Lovely day as usual. It's nice to not have a conference focused so much on business development where I can just enjoy the company of my peers.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

In the state house of representatives for the proclamation of March 17 as Colorado Aerospace Day. Because it was St. Patrick's Day, all legislation was introduced with a limieric. I also saw the "Mushrooom formerly known as Prince" become the state mushroom. The story of the mushroom

"The emperor mushroom became a clear choice since it was discovered in Colorado in 2016, after it had long been mistaken as the prince mushroom, Agaricus augustus, prompting lawmakers to refer to it as “the mushroom formerly known as prince," ."

Those who know me well know I have am irresistibly drawn to going upstairs. So, it is only natural that I took a break to see the museum on the top floor of the capitol building.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Picture time! My friend, Stacey, from Lockheed Martin, once again managed to corral the group onto the stairs under the dome. I made sure I was lower on the stairs this year, since the smooth marble is actually a little unnerving for a short person to stand on in a tight crowd for all the speeches.

 
Stacey is the one with her hand up telling people to pretend we are all on a trip in a spacecraft together and your teammates need to squeeze by you to find a space.

Volunteer Duty, part 2: I headed over to the Civic Center to work the registration desk for the panel discussion and happy hour. Lovely day to walk around the capitol grounds.
